Well, I still wasn't satisfied with the lack of rigidity at the gascolator due to the firewall oil-canning.

I found *another* section of channel wider than the last that was thicker and just seemed more rigid. Cut it to length, drilled holes for mounting as the other one, and located the position of the gascolator. Cut down the side flanges to 3/8" for rudder pedal clearance. Noticed that the fuel line, depending on installation angle, would hit on the flange, so cut a relief area in the channel for the fuel line. Installed.

Next, I drilled a hole for the EFIS RDAC data wire. I installed this on the starboard side of the firewall since I wanted it well-away from the power wires on the left.

Installed another Adel clamp on the firewall to secure the ground wire bundle as it angled back toward the panel. Installed the throttle and mixture cables into the panel support brace, thru the cable supports, then thru the firewall using rubber grommets.

Lastly, permanently installed the fuel tank outlet valve, two allen head plugs, and the Princeton capacitance fuel level probe int he tank. This required coating the threads with teflon-impregnated pipe dope. Since I haven't yet leak-tested the tank, and since the fuel probe is hard-wired to the probe controller box, I taped the control box to the underside of the tank. The cable cannot be cut or shortened in any way, so where the probe goes, so goes the controller box. Once installed, the control box will be permanently mounted with the panel installation.
