Brief Description:  Finalizing Location of Aft Lower Cabin Sub Assys

Didn't get to work on the plane yesterday; had to assemble / edit this month's Chapter newsletter.

Felt I made decent progress today. Finished the location and pilot drilling of the center support channels.

Next, I located and pilot drilled the idler pivot. The plans say that things have to be done in a certain order on this part; mostly to ensure proper placement against the aft fuse / mate line lower crosstie. As I was finishing up the location / predrill on this part, I got to thinking that I would remove the lower cabin parts like Michael Hildebrand did on his website. After removing the cleco's holding the assembly to the cabin floor, and after removing the final cleco's holding the seat belt attach angle to the fuselage side attach angles, the entire assembly, including the idler pivot, came out very simply and smoothly.

Once on the bench, I up-drilled everything to #30, then disassembled all and deburred. That's a lot of holes!

Next, I deburred the lower cabin floor and side angles. At this point, I could install and rivet. However, since I'm doing the lowered seat option, I have to install the "hat" section I formed earlier to protect the elevator control rod. This must be held on with nutplates. Of course, since this is optional, I don't have any. I'll scout around tomorrow; I really wanted to finish this up this weekend.
