Brief Description: Prep R Fuselage for Wrap
|
|
I have obtained appliques for each side of the fuselage at the rear of the cowl. Today I prepped the surface on the right side so that I could apply the applique.
First, I masked-off the cowl, landing gear, cockpit, and windshield - the black dust from compounding NuVite gets EVERYwhere.....
Did 3 passes with "F" grade, and two with "C" grade. Gave a very nice finish. I then masked-off the newly polished area except for a 1" (give or take) buffer area. There are a lot of rivets right next to the edge of the fwd fuselage / cowl mate line, and I didn't want to try to apply the decal over the rivets. So I painted it the same color and will just start the application right behind the rivets.
Installed remaining cleco's in the fiberglass wingtips in preparation for riveting.
Oh, yeah; went to Sun n Fun in Orlando FL last week. Then we had plumbing problems, and then we had a funeral for a neighbor, along with spending time with them, visitation, etc. Sad week.
