Fabricated pitot/static mounting plate, SNX-W23-05. Positioned and pilot drilled mounting holes in all 4 corners. Drilled center hole to .70" for mounting the Aircraft Spruce pitot/static tube.
Positioned mounting plate into position on the leading edge skin. Clamped and drilled 4 corner mounting holes using the plate as a template. Up-drilled the 4 corner holes to 11/64 to accomodate the machine screws that will be used to hold the plate in position on the skin. Positioned and drilled holes for nutplate mounting. Dimpled skin / countersunk nutplates to accomodate SSC-32 flush rivets.
Drew a straight line perpendicular to the leading edge skin trailing edge to ensure that the pitot tube points straight to avoid any airspeed errors. Positioned the tube assembly into the mounting plate, ensured it was straight, and pilot drilled mounting holes to fasten the tube assy to the plate. Cleco'd into position.
