Installed the tail fairings today. Marked and drilled the hole locations on the fairings themselves. These included the two triangular-shaped main pieces as well as the 4"" long straight angle pieces that go aft of the triangular ones.
Held in position and drilled a 5/64"" hole thru the fairing into the fuselage. Installed a self-tapping screw, then proceeded to drill and install the remaining screws.
Did the right side first. On the left side, the trim tab cable routes under the triangular piece, and on top of the straight piece. Installed the straight piece first. Noted it was a bit tight against the trim cable, so I notched the aft end of the triangular piece for better clearance. Installed remaining screws.
Also attached the lower piece of the AHRS mounting ""sandwich"" to the upper pieces of metal and foam. Used the same trim adhesive spray. Also obtained Velcro tape for mounting the AHRS to the "sandwich."
