Re-positioned the horizontal stab to finish trimming.
Continued to file the elevator control rod bellcrank to allow 25 deg up deflection of the elevator. One final trimming got it just right (pic 2). Protractor shows 160 or 20 deg; this is because of the tapered angle of the elevator (think angle as it corresponds to the centerline of the elevator).
Next, the upper horiz stab skins need to be notched to allow access to the 1/4" drill for the aft mounting bolts. Drilled a pilot hole, then took up to 5/16" with the unibit, then deburred.
Lastly, this past summer, when I was fabricating the aft fuselage, for some reason the aft edge of the shear web ended up a bit lower than the longerons. When I clamped everything together, it wanted to bulge-out the fuse skins. Tonight, I made up shims that fit between the longerons and the shear web, and will allow a tight connection.
