Brief Description: Pin Hinge / Mount Left Fiberglass Tip
Drilled center and end hinge segments 3/64ths and installed cotter pins to retain hinge pin. Cut hinge pins to length, installed and pinned.
Test-fit left horizontal stabilizer fiberglass tip. Seemed to go decently. Trimmed away the offset portion to allow elevator movement. Everything just seemed to line up well. Figured I'd go for it, so partially-drilled thru the aluminum skin holes and partially thru the fiberglass. Did not go allt he way thru, because the tip of the nose rib usually bends in a bit on initial fitment. Removed the tip and finished drilling all the way thru. Put back on to test - great. Removed again to mark-out the holes on the aft part of the tip that mount to the aft tip rib.
Removed and deburred all; riveted the aft tip rib to the assy, and riveted the fiberglass tip to the tip rib. Looks great, and just adds "something" to it.
