Brief Description: Left Elevator Trial Fit

A bunch of time, not a bunch of work. Previously, the elevator skins were cut to length, and cut to the angle required for the control horn assembly. Spent today trimming the protective plastic away from where the rib rivets will go. Also drilled and cleco'd the end and center rib for the left elevator.
Fit the hinge section, drilled and cleco'd that. Tomorrow will up-drill to #30, then deburr.
The sequence calls for the hinges to be mounted to the elevators, then the elevators fit to the stabilizer (stabilizer half of the hing is dependent upon elevator placement), THEN the control horn assembly is fit to the left and right elevator sides before holes drilled/cleco'd.
Spent a lot of time test-fitting the final parts on the bench.Tried aligning both from the top and bottom sides of the elevators facing up. Very hard to fit just right without attaching the parts to anything - the slightest movement in or out on one side either throws off the 78" overall length, or results in the fore end of the elevators to be one length, and the aft end a different length. Since I cut a bit too much resulting in the right elevator being a bit too short, I'm very interested in seeing how everything turns out.

Note that the end hinge hole has not been drilled thru the skin; must wait for final rib placement.
