Where I had previously drilled the 1/8" holes to cleco the cowl in place, today was wroking on those same holes to install nuplates allowing machine screws to hold the cowl in place.
Used a cleco to hold a nutplate over the drilled hole, then drilled thru the nutplate retention tabs into the metal fuselage. Before riveting the nutplates in place, I up-drilled the holes thru which the AN3 machine screws would pass to 1/4" and chamfered the rivet holes to allow use of flush rivets. Also, the nutplates were up-drilled to 1/8" rivet holes as per Zenith direction.
Added nutplates to the passenger side; still ahve to do the pilot side. Was getting humid.
