Brief Description: Finish up initial trial fitments
This post is split into two parts; hours for this post cover the next post as well.
Pilot-drilled the left and right heel rest gussets. Left side went just fine, but goobered up the right side. Had to re-fabricate a new piece. Original was .016, new is .025 (only I had on hand). Pic 1 below shows me noting distances on the new piece of stock, with old piece above. Pic 2 shows the new piece installed on the right side.
Removed the L-angles and foward angles from the fwd side skins to allow access to the firewall pre-drilled holes. Back-drilled thru the outer skins, then re-attached the L angles and fwd angles.
Pic 2 shows where the firewall has been back-drilled thru the foward side skins.
Next up will be to final-size drill the holes that require it, then disassembly, debur, and reassembly for riveting.
