Brief Description: Install right gear mount weldment
Spent time installing the right side steel main landing gear weldment.
Most of the required holes come pre-drilled in the mount; there are a few that still need to be dirilled based on the specific details of each unique installation.
Had to back-drill the forward edge vertical holes as shown in pic 1 below. I drilled for a few seconds to establsih the location of the vertical holes, then removed the mount and drilled on the bench. Up-drilled the holes to 3/16" for AN3 bolts. Drilled thru the mount into the foreward and aft fuselage sections to establish the bolt holes based on my installation.
Back-drilled thru pre-existing holes in the side skin into the weldment to fit a piece of L-angle stock to reinforce the gear channel. Upon examination on the inner side of the skin, iit's obvious that the standard L-angle will have the holes a bit too close to the edge of the angle. Fortunatelly, I had some leftover .025 L-angle about 25mm wide (std is 20) that I was able to cut to length.
