Brief Description:  Drill / install rear wing spar bolt / start struts

Did a final check of everything and started to drill the rear spar mounting tabs to install the AN6-7A bolts. I had previously trimmed the wing skin that abuts the fuselage side but I forgot that I had not lifted the wing on the starboard side. When I was positioning the wing (raising the aft edge of the wing), the skin was hitting the door hinge rivets harder than I'd like. So it was space the wing and file some more with the ol' bastard file.

Finished the trim and clamped the wing spar in position on the fuselage mount tab. Started with 3/32 drill, then 1/8, #20, 3/6, 1/4, and then 3 others (can't recall) until it was 3/8" in diameter. Installed the bolt and tightened. Tightened the front bolt as well.

Repeated for the left wing.

I had some time remaining so I figured I'd start the struts. The process is that you bolt the lower mount pieces in place, then slip the lower bracket in position in order to mark the required strut length so it can be cut. The upper bracket is then positioned, marked, drilled, and bolted together.

So, today I did the initial mark and drill of both lower fittings. I marked a line 63mm from the leading edge on both struts, then placed marks for the 3 bolt positions. I then drilled the spar without the bracket in position. I had to stop there because I did not bring a large clamp to keep the bracket from sliding around in the strut.
