Brief Description: Add carb heat box
|

Time to add the carb heat valve box.
removed the cotter pin and 9/16" nut from the forward manifold stud. Placed the main box portioin on the lower carb studs and lightly torqued the nuts. Added the front brace and got it all squared-up with the headt box. Marked hole locations from the brace to the top of the carb heat box since no holes were drilledfrom the factory.
Removed the head box and marked then drilled the holes.
Before I could temporarily install the box brace, I had to up-drill the hole to AN6 size since it was way small from the factory.
Of course, I tried to hold it by hand while drilling, and of course, it ripped out of my hand, twisting it in the process. Got it straightened back to original dimensions, but then had to re-paint it (thank good ness gloss black paint!).
Once the paint dried I reinstalled the box to the bottom of the carb, got all bolts torqued to spec, then installed the brace and installed the top AN6 bolt, installed cotter pin, then installed and torqued the two AN3 bolts that hold the lower brace to the carb heat box.
