Took yesterday off - too cold. Today I installed the cotter pins in each of the caslte nuts on the connecting rod bolts. 8 total.
Then I installed the crankshaft gear, lubed the bolts, torqued to 140 in lbs, then safety-wired them in pairs.
Lastly, I laid the case halves on the bench - first time I've really worked with them since receiving back from Divco in spring 2018! Cleaned the oil galleries, ensured that they fit together properly, and checked the position of the larger shaft case bolts that ensure the case is even all around. Cleaned some additional hardware to be reinstalled and general cleanup tasks.
