Brief Description: Cleanup / Debur / Label removal / Riveting
|
|
Removed labels from, and deburred, the vertical fin parts. Tedious.
Riveted the hinge for the rudder to the center support angles. Went to rivet the subassembly to the vertical fin spar, but it became obvious that things wouldn't fit.
Now, most of the time the finished rivet head is the part visible to passers-by. The "pulled" part is usually out of sight. If I were to rivet where it looked good, the riveter heads (either pneumatic or manual" would not fit. Coupled with that, rivet bodies from the prior riveting step (which *is* to be done first, BTW...) protruded, presenting blockage. Stopped there for the day. Just deburred more parts for tomorrow.
Came in, read the instructions and my HomebuiltHelp video, and, yup, the ugly side goes out. Makes for a VERY easy riveting job at the cost of appearance. *sigh*
