Much more productive couple of days.Success on the third attempt at painting the turtle deck former. I wanted to get a textured finish on this and the instrument panel. The manufacturers say dont mix different colours but I tried it anyway and it looked ok on a small test piece, on a larger area the colour was not even. The first attempt I stripped back off, second attempt also looked crap so I sanded it back. The third attempt I didn't mix any blue with the silver but this looks ok. Also made up the tailplane fairings, I was going to make these out of fibreglass including small fairings around the LE's of the stabs but the more I thought about it the more I realised the weight would be higher which I can not afford at the back of this plane so I made them out of 20 thou sheet, only one throw away. Think I will use a thin bead of silicon at the le. Also made up the cable fairings.
