Brief Description: Began the final installation of the X-10 Wings
June 30 and July 01, 2012
Today I began the final installation of the X-10 Wings. After cleaning off the primer paint where the Wing Spar and Fuselage Spar meet I carefully aligned as best I could the two together. Then using the 3/8” “Drift-Pins” that I created, completed the wing alignment after drilling an aft alignment hole at the Flap Attachment. After completing a few more steps I swap out the “Drift-Pins” with the aircraft grade bolts, nyloc-nuts, washers then torque to specific values. And I am in the process of connecting the Airspeed and AOA plastic tubing to the Wings Aluminum fittings. But I have decided to replace the Van’s supplied Fuel Tubing with some S.S. Braided lines for safety.
Time about 5 hours.
