Brief Description: Installed Hartzell blended airfoil and Aircraft C
Sept 15th 2012
This week I finished up some more engine system work (CHT probes, connecting the Mags, wire routing, plumbing connections, etc….) and installed the Hartzell blended airfoil or the aircrafts propeller. I purchased a special tool that allows the usage a of normal torque wrench, the special tool as an extension, just like a “crows” foot, it is straight and only 3 inches in length. After getting the six bolts hand tight I torqued in a star pattern the six bolts from 32 in/lbs to 42 in/lbs to finally 52 in/lbs. And now the propeller is on for a good. Then I started on the Top and Bottom Cowls. I previously started on the Cowls this spring but there’s a lot of work left before completing the cowl installation job and flying the X-10 aircraft is in sight.
Time about 20 hours this week.
