Realizing that Van's plastic eyeball air vents would not be satifactiory for my X-10, I orders some avionics and electrical stuff from Stein and included there aircraft aluminum high quality air vents. I unscrewed the cans that they were attached to and found that the eyeball/swivel part fits perfect in the Van’s supplied air scoop. (They are actually made to fit into the avionics panel not under the panel as Van's design). However, I sanded the plastic flange perfect and painted with a high quality flat black paint to match the black anodized Stein Vent finish. Using Pro Seal I attached the swivel eyeball to the supplied plastic vent. Being careful no tto use too much Pro Seal material. After completing the interior and panel I will attach with either a screw clamp or some more Pro Seal.
