Step 1 .. I accomplished this previously at step 6 of Section 45-8. Step 2 .. I cut the required number of 20 strips of material from 8.5 oz. fiber glass cloth. Step 3 .. I mixed up some Aeropoxy and added some black pigment for the 2 hour pot life. Then started with the #1 ply of 1 / 2inch and proceeded upward to 3.5 inch. This seemed to go OK but there is going to be some sanding needed to smooth out the results. Step 4 .. After curing I used 50 grit sandpaper with a Black-Decker “Mouse” sander to help smooth up things. Then I applied a layer of SuperFil and after setting up sanded with 80 grit sand paper. Then I applied another coat of Superfill and sanded that with 120 and finally 220 grit sandpaper. This seems to have produced fine results. Also, I have yet to fully complete this step because the “Mouse” sander broke and I need to return it for a under warranty replacement at the Home Depot store. Step 5 .. I have previously used the Superfill and filled the gaps between the fuselage and transparencies (windows). Step 6 .. I used UV Super Prime for this step previously.
Time about 5 hours because of the sanding involved.
