Brief Description: Section 13 Wings Unloading and Inventory of the Wi
11/11/2008 ... The Wing sub-kit arrived today after an eight (8) week lead-time wait. Van’s took the full 8 weeks to deliver the kit. The Wing sub-kit was delivered directly to my door or should I say garage. Freight cost from Portland, Oregon to Warner Robins Georgia was $430.00 US dollars again from ABS Trucking. Cost around a dollar per pound. There were two crates involved with a combined weight of around 400 lbs. Crate number one held the wings skins and other stuff and measured slightly smaller in size than the Empennage kit crate. Crate number two held the Wing Spar a one piece 12 foot billeted milled aluminum anodized piece of aluminum. The measurements of this box were about 15 foot long, 1 foot wide and 1 foot high. However, ABS Trucking had punctured one of the crates with what appeared to be the single fork of a fork lift where damage might have occurred. I made the driver write that their appeared to be damage to the large crate box on the invoice bill of material. However after unpacking no damage was seen to the inside contents, the fork narrowly miss the stacked set of wing skins W-1005 and W-1004.
INVENTORY: After paying freight charges the next step is doing a through inventory of all the shipped goods to insure the purchasing of a complete RV-10 kit from Van’s. Time for receiving and inventory ithe RV-10 kit is about +/-6 hours.
