Brief Description:  Hang the IO-540 A1D5 Engine to the X-10

Sept 9th 2012

With the help of Tony P. a RV-8 owner and builder and Bruce S. a RV-9 owner and builder I was able to hang the IO-540 A1D5 Engine to the X-10. After some thinking and jostling the engine around we were able to connect the Lord Mounts (donuts) that hold the engine to the engine stand with the correct size hardware. And then the following:
• I connected the Air-Tec alternator to the front of the engine.
• Routed the wires from the Firewall to the Sky-Tec 140 SL Starter 12v motor and the Air-Tec Alternator around the engine using Cushion Clamps and stand-offs.
• Inserted the Oil Temp Sensor to the dedicated location just in front of the oil filter and connect to the Skyview EMS.
• Routed the P-Mag Left and P-Mag Right wires to the Impulse Mags.
• Mock fitted the Perfect Airflow FM-150 fuel injection throttle body to the bottom of the engine and connected the VA-182 Bracket and the Air Filtration system.

Time this week approx. 15 hours.
