Brief Description:  Labeling the X-10 panel items and clear coat

05/01/2012

I purchased a set of Archer dry transfer decals for labeling the X-10 panel items from Dragoncraft.com on e-bay. But the decals were not right. You have to rub and place each letter one at a time onto another surface and then again onto what you wanted the lettering on. A very slow and tedious task for all the letting I needed to accomplish. I found a better (I think) way of doing this by using a orange color P-Touch PT-6100 hand held Brother labeler and purchasing, for less than 20 dollars, a clear back ground with black letters industrial grade label cartridge. After trimming each created label his approach worked great and enables me to change labels easy (before applying the clear coat). I clear coated the pilot, copilot panels and the annunicator panels because I don’t believe these items will change. Some of the others I am going to wait until I am certain that the label name is correct and won’t be changed.

Time about 6 hours including the clear coat.
