Brief Description:  Outboard & Inboard Aileron Hinges II

I fitted the bearings to the outboard hinges for each aileron. I had to remove the paint inside the hole to allow the bearing to fit.

I decided that I should really try to position both the outboard and inboard hinges on one aileron at the same time, so I bent the inboard hinge as described in the manual and fitted the bearing to it too.

I have fitted both hinges to the aileron and have clamped the hinges in place to check the range of motion before doing any drilling.

Section 16 Wing Final Assembly and Installation says:

"5. With the aileron attached, place the aileron at full up deflection, this is measured at the tip and must be 3.5 inches."

I understand the down range is the same.

To achieve the up range range on the right wing, I had to chamfer the trailing edge of the upper wing skin a little at the outboard end.

On the left wing I had to extend the aileron cutout on the trailing edge of the upper wing skin by about a quarter inch at the inboard end.
