Finished most of the front deck frame components, drilled all to final size. I REALLY need to start thinking about the avionics for clearance issues. I chatted tonight with fellow RV-9A builder Terry Ruprecht out of Mahomet, IL who is getting close to hanging the engine. We discussed moving the support ribs that attach to the panel from the sub panel so there is clearance for the EFIS/EMS screens. Since we have almost the same set up and choices for instruments, etc, I will follow his lead on moving the ribs inboard a bit (Van's and all say OK). But I need to wait until I know for sure the avionics going in and also the sizes from the manufacturer.
