Brief Description:  Fuselage misc

Finished gear leg holes in bottom skin, then set up right WD-657 step (for stepping up onto the wing for entry). I am putting one on each side - today had time to prep the right one. First, the flange that is riveted to the fuselage is bent to contour with the slightly curving fuselage. There are various techniques described in the forums - I chose to use a nearly closed crescent wrench and seaming pliers to bend the relatively soft steel. Worked very well. I also had layed out the rivet holes and drilled them, then back drilled into the fuselage. There were 3 baggage rib rivets that I had left out when riveting the fuselage, and with these I back drilled into the step plate. The plans call for a row of 5 rivets, but there wouldn't be enough spacing clearance if I followed their layout, so I left that row with just the 3.
