Brief Description:  F-904 Bulkhead - control column brackets

Made up the control column brackets - measured and drilled top hole, then clamped to aft bulkhead and back-drilled for bottom hole. I assembled the cross tube and control sticks (left is one piece, right side has a receiver tube with optional control stick in case you don't want for passenger side. i plan on making a removeable stick using spring loaded studs). Some "massaging" of the bearing tube and gusset weled to the control stick was necessary to prevent binding. See pic 2 where I am pointing. I primed the sanded edges and re-attached. It took several attempts after torqueing fully to finally get a smooth operation. When done, I final torqued all and cotter pinned the castle nuts (65 inch/pounds on the AN4 castle nuts, 25 + 5 for drag inch pounds on the AN3 nylocks). Now, the instructions say to remove the tubes assembled from the mounting brackets. Impossible, since the bolts holding the cross tube to the mounts can not be backed out without dis-assembly of the control sticks. I figured it would be harder to fit those small washers later, so I kept the whole assembly together and removed it, with the brackets. I called Chad Jensen who did the same thing - there will be one small mod later when this is reattached. This will involve fabricating a bridge plate on a fourth seat rib for access - you will have to do it for three anyway, so an additional seat rib will be little extra work.
