Brief Description: Right fuel tank assembly and sealing
Time to assemble and seal the fuel tank. I did a different method that worked out much better - less mess and more flush rivet heads. The technique is on Rick Galati's website and involves applying sealant (fay sealing - apply layer to each part to join - plus I went around each rivet hole to ensure a fuel proof seal), clecoing parts in place, AND LEAVING THEM TO CURE FOR A DAY OR MORE. After, then you go and rivet. Before riveting, I would swirl the Avery countersink for two or so turns - this cleans out the residual proseal, and slightly deepens the countersink for amore flush rivet head. I also used the tungsten bucking bar vs two other conventional bars - the latter went back in the drawer promptly. So, today, all ribs were sealed and attached with clecoes. I did all 7 ribs with one 6 oz. tube (thanks, Chad) in a gun.
