Productive day - finished the prep work on the VS and started riveting it together. Some new toys - in the first pic is the DRDT-2 dimpler that came in last week. This cost a bit more ($330) vs the traditional C-frame dimpler ($180) you strike with a hammer, but it is quiet and well made by Paul Merems ( http://www.experimentalaero.com ). Beautiful toolIn the second pic, Sarah is demonstarting the pneumatic cleco tool (simply a pneumatic ram that depresses the cleco plunger), which makes placing and removing hundreds of clecos fatigue free compared to the pliers.Last is the new longeron yoke for the pneumatic squeezer that came in from Avery. The squeezer made short work of riveting the 1/8" rivets in the spar.
