Here is a brief sequence of working ribs - in this case, part of the vertical stabilizer. Seam flange, ensuring 90 degree angle, flute flange to straighten the invariable bowed rib, then deburr all edges and lightening holes. Deburring can be done with dedicated hand tools, files, and the awesome Scotchbrite wheel. The latter is mounted on the new Delta variable speed bench grinder - my old one had one speed and a bulky motor, making clearance tight.
