I used the paper clip method to measure my gap between the baffle and upper cowl. I took way too conservative of an approach to triming these baffle sides for clearance. It took forever, but at least I never trimmed too much in any area. Another Mod from the plans is the McFarlane Aviation Seals. These are much slicker than the standard rubber seals. This will reduce friction transfer between the engine and cowl. This will reduce airframe vibrations and reduce cowl wear.
