The original cowl design in my eye was not pretty. So after time on the computer, dreaming up designs and trying them out. I came out with a combination between a Lancair 360 and a Glasair design. The original fiberglas was cut out and foam was carved to fit in to the cut out area. Once the foam fit in the hole. The new design was drawn on the foam and cut out. after many hours of shaping and measureing to insure that the openings were the same. 4 layers of 9 OZ glass, 1 layer of 12 OZ uni. and one layer of 3 OZ glass. Two layers of glass were applyed to the outside of the aircraft and the 4 layers on the inside. once the glass hardened the foam was melted out with acetone.
