Brief Description:  Condition inspection proir to DAR visit

We checked all our bolts on the control surfaces. This was made easier since we had painted each with finger nail polish when we torqued them. All were found to have been made secure. All castle nuts had cotter keys. Safety wires were in appropriate places. The control rods and rod end bearings functioned smoothly. The roll servo in the right wing was OK. All bolts were tight. The pitch servo had previously been checked. I can't fit back there now to check it. In the left wing, I did find that the "P" positive and "P" negative wires from the Gretz heated pitot control were not secure. The "hot" wires were OK and that is why we didn't get an error light on panel. These were inserted and the set screws tightened and then they were given a gentle tug. Then I got in the cockpit and checked all the switches which functioned. Next the com radios were checked. The squelch on the ICOM 200 needed adjusting but then functioned as expected. Claude used the hand held to listen and transmit......There was a REAL problem with the weather in that it stayed IMC all day. If this low ceiling persists through tomorrow, our DAR, Vern Darley, will not be able to fly down. I don't know if I can wait. I can't believe it. We have had perfect weather for 3-4 weeks and now this!
