After reading Smittys site in more detail and back to the plans and drawings, I jumped into cutting the stiffeners for the rudder. Got stiffeners all cut to size, drilled, dimpled deburred and primed. Also dimpled and primed the skin. Though nervous to start, I used an old 1/4 inch plate that I had only used a corner of previously on the racecar. I was concerned that it was not polished enough and did some test back riveting and to my surprise, it worked just fine. Back riveted both sides of the rudder skins to the stiffeners and now have a new favorite way to rivet. Back riveting is so much cleaner and faster to do.
