Cut the rear of the top cowling. The scribe line is close but does not account for the required 3/16 space needed between the spinner backplate and the cowling. What I did was mark points onto the fuselage skin at 2" behind the forward ends of the skins and attached the points into a solid line. Then I put the cowliing into place and shimmed the 3/16" spacing for the spinner gap. From there is was easy to copy the fuselage line onto the cowling at 2" forward of the line. Connected the points and cut to the line and now the cowling top fits nicely. I started planning the mounting tabs for the Skybolt attach assembly system for the cowling. I will hvae to go back and remove some rivets on the sides as I had already installed some piano hinges earlier that I won't use.
