Brief Description:  Layout stripes and paint mask

Laid out the paint mask for the N Numbers and the color scheme. The mask is a little work and is difficult to keep down when going over the overlapped skins and will need to be pushed back down right before they get sprayed. The outline cuts should get masked over as they will sometimes let a little over spray get through and require clean up. I found this out when applying the mask for the wing and tail graphics. For the swooping scheme, I used 1" 3M Automotive Performance masking tape. This wider tape allows for less wiggles in the line vs a thinner tape and I used the width to create the margin between the red and the start of the silver stripe. Easy peasy. For the fixed width of the stripe, I layed down a 2" wide piece of blue painters tape to set the width then followed that with a line of the green 3M tape to set the bottom edge. Remove the blue tape from the center of the stripe and you have a nice even width stripe. The stripe and scheme does get wider to go up the rudder but it's underneath the horizontal stabilizer and done by hand.
