Drilled out temp rivets on the top skin and completely removed the nose skin. Used a rivet hammer with a pin punch inserted to knock out the rivet stems before drilling off the rivet heads. I did this because some of the A5 rivet stems were sheared off to high to even drill the head off so a different plan of attack was needed.
Made drilling jigs on my lathe for drilling out the solid rivets squarely to the spar so that I do not drill through the side of the rivets and mess up the holes.
My 3X rivet hammer & pin punch takes about 2 split seconds to knock out the stems from A5 rivets
Removing the rivet stems first takes a lot of stress out of drilling out rivets
Jigs for drilling out solid rivets. Cup fits rivet head to self centre and outer ring holds it square
