This the first task undertaken on my plane, so I took my time.
The position of the four notches in the main gear were located by placing a piece of pine in the gear channel and marking the centers of the four bolts onto it and cut in using a rotary file in a power drill. I placed the flat foward on my gear to make the plane a little lighter on the nose gear.
