Two each of the W-816 and W-818 aileron pushrods wre fabricated and primed. While riveting one of the trheaded rodends into a W-818, the wood holding fixture allowed the rod to rotate and the rivet gun snap contacted the tube. I contacted Vans, and they confirmed that as it was a steel tube, if I polished out any sharp edges, it should be fine to remain in service. I ended up priming both rods as I destroyed the powder coating cleaning up the rivet gun contact.
