Brief Description: Rudder Steps 22-30: Finish assembly of skeleton
Steps 22-25: Finished up preparing the rudder skeleton (dimpled, etc) and primed all of the parts. For internal parts I used 1 coat of self etching primer (green). For the ones exposed to weather that might not get painted (not sure yet!) I did a second coat of primer sealer (grey).Steps 26-30: Riveted the reinforcement plates and nutplates/platenuts (see picture 2), riveted the counterbalance skin and installed the counter weight. The counter weight had to be shaved just a touch on each side towards the front in order for it to fit properly. At that time I didn't have a torque wrench, so after riveting the top rib on I opened up the holes already in place (which are directly over the nuts) so that I could torque them later.Riveted the counter balance skin to the spar and to the main skins.
