Brief Description:  Engine Cooling Plenum 1

Yesterday I started working on fabbing up a plenum for the engine cooling air. I forgot to take the camera out to the shop, so I don't have pictures from that first bit of work. I decided to go with the plenum since I don't really like the rubber baffle seals. it is hard to get a good seal with them plus it is one more wear part to maintain.

For my plenum I am using the already fitted baffles and just making a top. This top will also for the top half of the air inlet and inlet ramps.

I bought a full sheet of the blue insulation foam from lowes and a can of headliner contact adhesive from autozone. Regular contact cement is too aeromatic and will melt the foam. If used sparingly, the headliner adhesive will not melt the foam very much.

I lined the engine with plastc and covered the metal baffles with packing tape. I built up the foam to fill the top of the engine baffles so I could carve it to match the contour of the baffles.
