More alternator mounting work today. The adjuster bolt on the auto alternator is ~12mm while the slot in my universal bracket is 5/16. I made a bushing so I could use a 5/16" bolt in that hole. I turned down the shank of a 1/2" bolt to 0.45" and then drilled a 5/16 hole down the center. This worked out very well.
The arm is also offset from the attach point on the engine. I made a spacer from the shank of a 3/4" bolt drilled for a 5/16" mounting bolt.
The alternator has two mouting tabs hanging off the side. I have no idea what these are used for in a normal installation. Made a head shield to protech the alternator from the exhaust heat and mounted it to these tabs. I also mounted a heatshield to the exhaust below the alternator.
