Today I knocked out the majority of the remaining work on the FAB. I fabricated my own adapter for the carb heat inlet. I made it out of 0.040 wich is fun to bend with a hand seamer and a vice with some angle-iron (radiused of course). I already had a 2" scat adapter so I didn't want to buy the Vans part. Given the tight clearance, I don't know how well the Vans item would have worked anyway.
I painted the top plate and heat inlet low-gloss black wich always looks great. The aluminum tabe on the side is a cover to retain the hinge pin for the carb heat door. I made the pin removeable, but the rivet will have to be drilled out, so it won't go anywhere on its own.
