Brief Description:  Filtered Air Box (FAB) 2

More work on the FAB today. I mounted the FAB and cowl to determine how much room I have for the carb heat door. It is going to be tight, but doable. I made an initial trim of the FAB so that it will clear the cowl when dropped straignt down. I tool measurements and fabricated the carb heat door. I made the door cutout / heat inlet based on the dimensions of the door minus 1/8". I still need to do a little more triming, but it looks good so far.

While fitting the FAB assembly to the lower cowl, I found the there was insufficient clearance on between the FAB and the left side of the cowl scoop. There isn't much room to shift the top plate around on the formed FAB top. Insead, I made a new plate and shifted the position of the carb over about 1/2". This is as far as I can go without interfering with the filter element. Picture 3 has the old and new plates overlaid. The top plate is the new part I made, you can see the difference in the carb cutout.
