It has been a busy couple of weeks, not with the airplane though. My father-in-law came out to Dallas and we went to the rud-bull air races together. The next weekend we all met up for a family vacaion in florida. Had a great time, but not much done on the airplane in that time.
Back in the groove, I started off by making the gusset that supports the canopy fairing. Plenty of cutting and trimming on this part X 2. I then match-drilled the gusset to the inside of the canopy frame. Drilling to the fairing will have to wait a bit. Total weight loss from a solid to finished piece with all the lightening holes was 11.1 grams.....
