Following the what I thought the suggestion was on the metronics forum (I may have misunderstood) I riveted the gussets to the ribs prior to assembling them to the spar. Unfortunately, this does not leave enough room the rivet the bellcrank rib to the main spar (uses solid rivets). As a result, I had to drill out all the rivets. Well, one did not go so well and I oversized the hole. Since there was plenty of edge distance I tried to use a -5 rivet, this did not work well and could not be set without deforming the skin at the gusset. After trying three times to set a rivet, I screwed up the hole even worse. I decided to make a doubler plate on the gusset side and install a bolt in place of the rivet. This worked out just fine.
