Brief Description:  Wiring 26

I was out of town for a week and then very busy with work when I got home, so progress has been minimal for the last two weeks.

Today I worked on the electrical quite a bit. I routed all the wires for the pabel warning lights. Some are also connected to the EMS so the had to be spliced in parallel. I put pigtails on the indicators and switches. These will all run to a connector on the sub-panel. The lights mount from the fron so I have to use connectors so the panel can be removed later.

I am also working on a DIM and push-to-test circuit. That should be pretty simple, but I need to fab a PC board and find a suitable case.

I also wired up a relay for the alternator field. The relay is controlled by the com pole on a DTST center-off switch. When the switch is in the up position the switch connects to the NO oil pressure switch. The alternator will remain off until the engine starts and has enough oil pressure to activate the switch. This will activate the relay and turn on the alternator voltage regulator. When the switch is in the down position, the relay will be active whenever that main buss is hot (this is like most AC installations. The center position is off and can be used to shut down the alternator if needed (along with the pullable braker). The crowbar OV module will be connected to the alternator braker and ground as usual. However, I could use some other OV modual, rather than trip the breaker it could just open the relay. Of course that is another circuit to design and more time...
