Back in April I made the housing / mounting bracket for the avionics cooling fan. This evening I finally got around to finishing it up. I bought to 5/8" male-to-male nylon barbed hose fittings. I cut one side off leaving about a 3/16" stub. I drilled the hole in the housing I have previously made and then used my speed deburring tool to adjust the hole size so the fitting would have a tight fit. I then made a retaining clip for the fittings and installed a nutplate. I put a bit of sealant on the fitting, but this was not at all required since the fit was very tight. Once it was primed and assembled it came out great. It moves quite a bit of air. The outboard fitting has slightly higher output so that will be the primary. A similar two-port cooling fan from ACS runs about $150. I probably have a solid $8 in my version, so I am happy.
