Brief Description:  Leveling Fuselage

With the fuselage on the new stand it needed to be leveled and checked for twist before any more work was done. I started by leveling the fuselage laterally at the firewall with a screw-jack and then placed shims under the feet of the stand. I then leveled the fuselage longitudinally by adjusting the height of the rear cross member supporting F-608. I attached a vertical member from the rear of the stand to the rear bulkhead to maintain alignment and keep the fuselage square. Right now the rear portion of the fuselage can still twist quite a bit without the rear deck installed. The rear deck will for the box structure of that portion of the fuselage.

I also inserted strips of cardboard between the vertical member of the stand and the fuselage sides to keep everything centered.

I must have built the jig correctly since there is no measurable twist in the fuselage!!!
