Brief Description:  Aileron Pushrod Boots 1

The aileron pushrod passes through a nice big hole in the side of the fuselage. Even though the gap between the wing and fuselage is closed by a fairing, plenty of cold air can pass though the hole and come up right under the seat. As a result, lots of builder put boots (like the control stick boots) around the aileron pushrod.

I haven't made the boots yet, but I went ahead and made the flange the boots will attach to. The flange is made of 0.025 bent 90 degrees and then drilled / notched so it can form a circle. The tabs fit in the gap between the seat rib and the skin. The ends are then riveted together locking it in place. The boot can then attach to the flange with Velcro. In the pictures I show it with the flange on the outside of the fuselage, but it will actually be the other way around with the boot inside.
